PRIME MINISTER SHREE NARENDRA MODI'S MANN KI BAAT RADIO KARYKRAM 30 AUGUST 2020
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the radio program 'Mann Ki Baat'.  Addressed the nation through the medium.  In his keynote address, PM Modi said that in the Corona era, citizens have a sense of responsibility.  People are abstaining from all kinds of festivals.  The restraint and simplicity shown in the day-to-day planning of the country is unprecedented.  Unlock-4 is about to begin amid the ever-increasing transition of cores in the country.  The Central Government has issued guidelines for Unlock 4.  The metro is going to start from September 7 but school colleges, cinema halls will still be closed.  However the speed of Corona's growing graph in India has not slowed down yet.  India has the highest number of corona cases in the world in a single day.  With 78761 cases in a single day, the number of corona cases in India has now crossed 35 lakh.

Prime Minister Modi said that he would like to apologize to the parents of the children who are listening to Mann Ki Baat as it may be that after listening to this Mann Ki Baat program, listening to the new demand for toys may come up against them.  While toys are an activity enhancer, toys also give rise to our aspirations.  Toys not only make the mind better, the toy also makes the mind and creates the purpose.  The Prime Minister said that our country has a very rich tradition of local toys.  There are some talented and skilled craftsmen who specialize in making good toys.  Some areas of India are also developing as toy clusters.  The global toy industry is worth over Rs 7 lakh crore, the PM said.  Such a huge trade of Rs 7 lakh crore but India's share is very small.  A nation that has so much heritage, so much tradition, should have so little share in the toy market.
The programme has been well received by the target audience, especially the urban masses residing in metropolitan cities across the country. A survey in 2014 conducted on the lines of estimating the show's success, in 6 Indian cities including Mumbai and Chennai, has indicated that some 66.7% of the population had tuned in to listen to the Prime Minister's address and had found it usefulThe MHA has allowed metro services to resume in a graded manner from September 7 and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development will issue the SOP in this regard. The MHA has also restricted states from imposing local lockdowns outside containment zones without consulting the Centre.
Traders and businesspersons have complained against weekend lockdowns, like the one in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, and arbitrary lockdowns like the one in West Bengal. The Centre is in favour of allowing as much economic activity as possible and this is the first set of guidelines where the power to impose restrictions in the interest of public health has been taken away from local administration. While open-air theatres have been permitted, cinema halls will continue to remain shut. This decision was taken even though the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the last lockdown had proposed allowing cinemas with 25% capacity.
