Gujarat announces electric vehicle policy for next four years, subsidy of Rs 20,000 for two-wheeler and Rs 1.5 lakh for four-wheeler


Gujarat announces first electric vehicle policy in the country Three Japanese companies have started production with Maruti. Currently, 250 charging stations have been sanctioned. Charging stations will be set up near hotels.

An electric vehicle policy has been announced for the next four years in Gujarat.  Gujarat is the first in the country to announce this policy.  Chief Minister Vijay Rupani held a press conference and informed about the subsidy available in the electric vehicle policy, in which a subsidy of Rs 20,000 for 2-wheelers and Rs 1.5 lakh for 4-wheelers has also been announced.


New e-vehicle technology will be promoted

 This policy will promote new e-vehicle technology and increase employment opportunities in e-vehicle driving, sales, financing, servicing and charging sectors.

 The policy aims to encourage young startups and investors as well as protect the environment by reducing air-noise pollution from vehicle fuel fumes.  It is estimated that 1 lakh 10 thousand two-wheelers, 70 thousand three-wheelers and 20 thousand four-wheelers will come to the state in the next 4 years.  From such vehicles

 Consumption costs per kilometer are on average 30 to 50 per cent lower than other vehicles, as well as a significant reduction in air pollution.

Carbon emissions will be reduced by 6 lakh tonnes

 In the next four years, when 2 lakh electric vehicles come on the roads of Gujarat, at least about five crore rupees of fuel will be saved and approximately 6

 It is estimated that carbon emissions will decrease by one lakh tonnes.  The policy is based on the idea that electric vehicles are expensive and unaffordable to the common man, and that the goal of using two lakh electric vehicles in four years becomes a reality.  State Government Procurement of Electric Vehicles

 The benefit of subsidy will be available to two-wheelers worth up to Rs 1.50 lakh, three-wheelers worth up to Rs 5 lakh and four-wheelers worth up to Rs 15 lakh.

 Everyone has an equal opportunity to invest in the state of Gujarat. A new policy has been launched today. Electric vehicles are used by more people. This has been announced to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel.


 Electric vehicles reduce pollution. The goal of becoming an electric vehicle for the people is important. The government emphasizes on two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers. This policy will prevent 6 lakh carbon emissions.  The subsidy will be Rs 50,000 for a wheeler and Rs 1.5 lakh for a four-wheeler.

The subsidy will be Rs 20,000 for two-wheelers, Rs 50,000 for three-wheelers and Rs 1.5 lakh for four-wheelers.

Charging stations will be set up to charge vehicles. The government will also provide subsidy on charging stations. For this, consideration has been given for charging options at different hotels. Charging stations will be set up at 500 places.

The government currently wants to start with 1.25 lakh two-wheelers, 75,000 rickshaws and 25,000 cars. The subsidy will be subsidized per kilowatt. At present, 250 charging stations have been sanctioned and 250 will be provided in the future. Battery swapping stations will be promoted.  Has announced more generously than other states.

Gujarat will be the first state to provide subsidy. Along with Maruti, three Japanese companies will also start production.

The government has reduced GST on electric two-wheelers under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicle (FAME II) scheme.  Since then, its price has come down to Rs 28,000.  Earlier, the GST rate on electric vehicles was 12 per cent, which has now been reduced to 5 per cent.  Amid rising petrol prices, electric vehicles are becoming cheaper and people may be more interested in buying them.

 The FAME II scheme has been revised by the government, since then the prices of electric two-wheelers have come down significantly.  Earlier, the subsidy on electric two-wheelers was Rs 10,000 per kWh, but now it has been increased to Rs 15,000 per kWh.  According to Hero Electrical two-wheeler company, it has reduced the price by 12% on its single battery variant electric two-wheeler and 33% on the triple-battery model.

Nivan Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Electrical Two-Wheeler Company, said that the increase in subsidy under Fame II will increase the demand for electric vehicles in the country.  This is the most important step in terms of the electric vehicle industry in the last decade.  An increase in Fame Two subsidies will usher in a new era of electric mobility in the country.  With petrol reaching Rs 100 per liter, people will be interested in buying electric scooters.

 1. TVS iQube

 Its price has been reduced by Rs 11,250.  Then the TVS iQube electric scooter is priced at Rs 1,00,777 (ex show room).  Which was earlier Rs 1,12,027.  This battery operated scooter from TVS is equipped with a 4.4 kw electric motor.

2. Revolt RV 400

 Revolt Motors Company's RV 400 is the first electric bike.  The RV 400 is the top variant while the RV 300 is the base variant.  The company has slashed the price of the RV 400 by about Rs 28,200.  The ex-showroom price of the first Revolt RV 400 model was Rs 90,799.  Which will now be 62,599.  The company has given a 5kW electric motor in the Revolt RV 400 bike.  It has three riding modes - Eco, Normal and Sport variants.  With the Revolt RV 400 bike, the company offers a warranty of up to 8 years or 1.5 lakh km.

3. Okinawa iPraise +

 The company has priced the Okinawa iPraise + at Rs 1.15 lakh.  But it has been reduced from Rs 7,200 to Rs 17,900.  As a result, its price has gone up from Rs 107,800 to Rs 97,100.  The company has launched the Okinawa iPraise + electric scooter in Glossy Red Black, Glossy Golden Black, Glossy Silver Black.  A separate application has also been created for this.  The Okinawa Echo app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.  SOS notification is a safety feature.  This will send messages and emails to people on the list in case of an emergency.  Also, rider braking, acceleration, turns and speeding can be monitored through the monitoring feature.

4. Hero Photon HX

 The Hero Photon HX was priced at Rs 79,940.  After receiving the subsidy, it has gone up to Rs 71,449.  This has reduced the price by up to 12%.  It has a digital speedometer, remote lock with anti-theft alarm, combi-braking system, LED lighting and a USB port for mobile phone charging.

5. Hero Optima ER (double battery)

 The Hero Optima ER was priced at Rs 78,640 (ex show room).  It has reduced prices by 33% after subsidies.  It will now be available for purchase at Rs 58,980.

 Hero MotoCorp reported growth of 4,69,160 units in May 2021, more than double the 1,83,044 units.  The company's wholesale sales for the April-June period were 10,24,507 units compared to 5,64,665 units in the 2020-21 June quarter.

 Its total dispatch in June 2021 was 2,12,446 locally in 2,34,029 units and 21,583 exports.  Also, in June 2020, 2,10,879 units sold 2,02,837 locally and 8,042 units exported.  This has led to an 11% increase in two-wheeler sales.


 Bajaj Auto

 Total bikes at Bajaj Auto grew by 22% in June 2021 to 3,10,578 units as compared to 2,55,122 units sold in June last year.
