Now ‘equal pay for equal work’ will be implemented: benefit of one million irregular employees of the center
All irregular employees will now also get paid according to the standard of regular employees.
New Delhi: The central government has already arranged to provide unique benefits to the irregular employees working under its various departments. All the irregular employees working for the Central Kanidai Laki government will now receive salaries as per the standard of regular employees. An official under the Prime Minister’s Office, Kanidai Lakiye and the Department of Training (Personal Aquila and Training) issued the order in this regard on Wednesday. According to the order, from now on, all irregular employees working in the Central Government department will be paid the same as the minimum wage and the Kannidai Lakhiya inflation allowance for regular employees who are working at the same position after working eight hours. They will be paid as many days as they work. It is also noteworthy to note that he has no right to regular employment as per order No. 49014/1/2017. These employees were currently being paid the minimum wages declared by the respective state governments as Kannada Kaikey. The Delhi government has fixed a monthly salary of Rs 14,000 for unskilled workers. Now, following the order of the central government, they will get minimum wage, ie monthly salary of Rs 30,000, as per Group D’s wages That is, once Kanyidai Laki will double his salary. The order also clarifies that if the work of an irregular employee is different from the regular employee’s work, he will be paid only on the basis of minimum wage fixed by the state government. The DoPT’s order, which has been sent to all ministries and departments, has been issued following the Supreme Court’s decision on the issue of ‘equal pay for equal work’. Despite the government’s explicit directive, trade union leaders are skeptical of its implementation. Bijnath Rai, the former president of the Indian labor union, the country’s largest trade union, says such orders have been announced many times in the past. It is not implemented. Notably, the government has now given most of Group C and D’s jobs to outsourcing private contractors, in which case the order is difficult to comply with. Situ leader Tapan Roy says the order is for central employees only. This is why the DOPT has declared it. If the Ministry of Labor had declared it would have been for all employees. He too has expressed skepticism against its full implementation.
