The Modi cabinet has approved the auction. Applications for the 5G spectrum auction will be made from July 8 and the auction will start from July 26. The government’s target is to launch 5G service from October.
More than 72 GHz of spectrum, which is 10 times faster than 4G, will be auctioned for a period of 20 years. Moving forward with PM Narendra Modi’s Vision of Digital India, BharatKa5G spectrum was announced today. The spectrum auction will benefit from the telecom sector reforms announced in September 2021. This will include zero spectrum Usage Charges (SUC) etc. on the spectrum received in the auction.
